The Business Development Manager, Private Assets role requires an experienced professional with proven sales experience in the investment fund industry, ideally selling services to fund initiators / asset managers. The successful candidate will be primarily accountable for increasing overall sales in the Private Asset segment, with no regional limitation. The candidate will participate in shaping UI efa’s Private Assets business development strategy and actively contribute to its success by building out a network of contacts primarily with prospective clients, but also with key institutional partners such as depositary banks, management companies, as well as centers of influence such as auditors, lawyers, and independent directors.
Responsibilities and duties
- Contribute to and execute the company’s commercial strategy for the Private Assets segment
- Identify new targets for the commercial development, mapping the organizations and building a network of contacts
- Initiate, develop and foster new client relationships to increase efa’s market share
- Take action and initiative as necessary to attract new mandates
- Actively seek to be invited and participate to RFIs (requests for information) or RFPs (requests for proposal)
- Capture market needs and opportunities to widen the scope of services and products
- Actively participate in industry events and ensure appropriate media presence through thought-leadership
- Acquire and maintain market intelligence and observe and follow closely initiatives of our main competitors
Your profile
- University degree in Finance, Economics or equivalent
- Proficiency in English, any other language(s) constituting a plus
- 10+ years relevant experience in the financial sector, with proven experience in sales / business development
- Excellent knowledge of private markets / alternatives
- Entrepreneurial spirit
- Openness, flexibility and adaptability to an international environment
- Strong commercial drive and resilience to lead sales process up to close
- Strong interpersonal skills and a true service-oriented attitude, with an ability to build and foster relationships for the long term
- Result-driven individual that takes initiative, is positive and proactive
- Shows strong leadership and values, able to represent the company to the highest standards at all times
- The position involves regular travelling
