Prior to joining EFA, Gary worked as an independent director and consultant in Luxembourg.

From 1991 to 2015, Gary worked for Schroders Investment Management in London and Luxembourg was appointed Director of Operations for the Luxembourg Operations in 2003. His role included a broad range of responsibilities that covered: Distribution Support, Fund Administration, Fund Performance, Investment Risk, Project Management, Product Implementation, Treasury & Cash Management and Transfer Agency Services.

Gary has served on various fund and management boards. As a member of Schroders’ European Fund Services Committee, he was directly involved in formulating and delivering the strategy to provide services to Schroders' investment fund ranges in Europe and Asia. This work entailed the on-going review of client needs and regulatory requirements and incorporating them into sustainable and scalable processes delivered from the Luxembourg operations centre.

At an industry level Gary has worked in several areas covering topics that included CSDR and Chairing the original ALFI working groups on Market Timing & Swing Pricing.



Director - Public Asset Operations

René Brisbois has more than 20 years of experience in the fund industry. He started his career at Deloitte and joined EFA in 2000. Initially, René worked in project management and process improvement roles. Since 2011, he has held several leadership roles in operations management covering many areas such as securities database & valuation, fund investment rules compliance, risk & performance reporting, regulatory reporting, operational readiness / clients on-boarding, middle office operations and transfer agency.

René holds a Master's degree in Finance, Banking and Insurance from the University of Liège and speaks English and French.



Chief Commercial Officer

Paulo Fernandes is Chief Commercial Officer and member of the Management board.

Paulo has responsibility for Relationship Management, Business Development, Marketing and Communications, Product Development, International Projects and Strategic Development.

With more than 17 years of experience in the fund industry, Paulo Fernandes has spent over 10 years in several operational leadership roles at EFA, before joining the commercial area where Paulo headed the Relationship Management function.  

Paulo speaks Luxembourgish, English, French, German, and Portuguese and he holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Sacred Heart University, Jack Welch College of Business.



Director - Private Asset Operations

Fabrice Freilinger is Private Asset Operations Director and member of the Management board. 

Fabrice Freilinger has 14 years’ experience in private asset services in Luxembourg. 

Before joining EFA, Fabrice held the position of Senior Manager Consolidation & Accounting and Transfer Agency in the Private Equity & Real Estate department at Credit Suisse Fund Services Luxembourg. 

Previously Fabrice worked at RBC Investor Services as Manager Consolidation Accounting in the Private Equity & Real Estate department.

He started his career as auditor of commercial company at BDO Compagnie Fiduciaire.

Fabrice holds a masters’ degree in Economics from the Université Libre de Bruxelles and speaks Luxembourgish, German, French and English.



Director – IT, Compliance & Risk Management
Member of the Management board

John Glesener is Information Technology, Compliance & Risk Management Director and a member of the Management board. 

John has an experience of 33 years in the investment funds and asset servicing industry.
Prior to his current position, he headed the Register and Transfer Agency (until 2010) and Product and Strategic Developments (until 2015) of EFA as a Director and member of the Executive Committee. 

Before joining EFA in 2001, he worked for UBS Fund Services Luxembourg, previously Swiss Bank Corporation, where he was a member of the Executive Committee and headed different business areas ranging from Product & Business Development to Organisation, IT and Transfer Agency. 

John speaks Luxembourgish, English, German and French and holds a Master’s degree in Economics from University of Strasbourg, France.
